I've been traveling my whole life, but in 2023 I took the leap into international travel — and honestly, there's no going back.
By day I'm a travel agent helping others plan their dream trips, and this blog is where I share my own.
As a Bliss Honeymoons travel agent, I create custom itineraries for honeymoons, anniversaries and romantic escapes worldwide.

Book with meFive trips so far, fourteen cities between them. Open a trip to see every stop.
I’d been wanting to go to Rome for years, and I finally decided to make it happen. My mom had already been, my sister hadn’t, and the three of us turned it into a girls trip.
It ended up being my first international trip, and it set the standard for every trip since. Here is exactly how we spent five nights, plus what I’d tell anyone going for the first time.
Trianon Borgo Pio. I’d book it again without thinking about it. The location puts you walking distance from the Vatican, the rooftop breakfast buffet is worth booking the rate that includes it, and the front desk runs a ticketing service that saves you a lot of logistics.
We went in winter and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Mild, light-jacket weather the whole time, and noticeably quieter than summer at the big sights. You’re not fighting crowds or heat, and you’re not paying peak prices.

Our honeymoon: four nights in Positano, three on Ischia, three in Florence, and three in Rome.
Two weeks sounds like a lot until you are in it. We split the trip between the coast and the cities, and moved by ferry and train the whole way.
If there is one thing to build the coast half around, it is getting out on the water. Floating in the Mediterranean is a highlight we would go back for on its own.
All four are worth booking. What each one included is half the reason why.

Three cities, one day trip, and six nights to do it in.
We flew in and out of Tokyo, so we took the bullet train straight to Osaka on arrival and worked our way back east. That way the trip ended in Tokyo, right where we needed to be for the flight home.
Mostly, though, this was a trip about eating.
All three were good picks for a first visit, mostly because of where they put you.

Six towns in nine nights, all of it by bus and train.
Traveling this way meant a lot of time looking out a window at the coast and the countryside, and it worked better than I expected. And nearly every night ended the same way: a packed pub, a pint, and a band in the corner.

About ten of us flew down for a friend’s birthday, spent five nights at an adults-only all-inclusive, and left the property exactly once.
There is no itinerary in this post because there was no itinerary on the trip. That was the whole point. Here is what the resort was actually like, and the one upgrade I would tell anyone to book.
Hotel Riu Palace Baja California, adults-only, with a resort shuttle from the airport so nobody had to sort out transport.
One perk worth knowing: staying here gets you full access to the neighboring sister properties, so you can wander over and use their pools, bars, and daytime snack areas whenever you want.
Book the Elite Club. That is my one real recommendation from this trip.
